After all, this is your place for local news and information, designed with you in mind.

The Chronicle’s new look and feel will give you a faster, cleaner and more enhanced user experience.

But we know it always takes a while to get used to something new. So, we want to help you on the journey.

You will notice a few changes to our navigation bar up the top.

Local news is first and foremost.

If you hover over that you will see a drop-down menu with quick access to community, police and courts, development, council and real estate stories.

You will also find quick access to all the latest Queensland, national and world news, as well as opinion, including letters to the editor, business, entertainment, lifestyle, classifieds and sport.

At the top left of the page, in the blue navigation strip, you will find access to our My Tributes website where you can find the latest funeral and death notices.

You will also find the link to the digital edition of The Chronicle to see today’s paper, as it is printed.

The new website also means you no longer have to go The Courier-Mail to access your rewards as a subscriber. You will be able to access them from right here.

The Chronicle’s new look and feel has been designed after extensive research and feedback from News’ subscribers across the country.

There will be even more features added in coming months.

The website offers quicker loading times for the home page and article pages, and less distractions getting in the way of the stories that matter. Our subscribers will get their cleanest experience yet.

As we make the change to our new site, there’s a few things to keep in mind.

If you are already a subscriber, you will need to log into the new website using the email address and password you normally use.

If you have set up your account with a different News Corp publication, such as The Courier-Mail, you’ll need to use the password linked to this account when logging in to The Chronicle after October 1.

If you use a Facebook account to authenticate, you will need to first login using your email address and password details and then add your Facebook account back in.

If you’re having trouble logging in:

  • Forgot Password? Simply go to thechronicle.com.au, locate the ‘Login’ button in the top right-hand corner of your screen & click on ‘Forgot your password’
  • Forgot your email address? Call 1300 MY NEWS (1300 696 397). We are open Monday to Friday 7:30am to 6:00pm and 7:00am – 11:30am AEST on both Saturday & Sunday.

As part of the changes, we will be discontinuing our current app. Instead, we will provide a better experience on the mobile device version of our website.

As you would expect, the upgraded site will give most prominence to local news, business, courts and crime, council, development and sport stories, videos and photo galleries.

For the first time, you will have greater access to all of News’ premium Queensland, national and world news, as well as lifestyle, entertainment, and national and international sports news.

But we know that local news is what really matters.

That’s why The Chronicle has the biggest team of journalists in the region, ensuring it remains the dominant source of breaking news, council, courts, crime, development, education and sports reporting as well as what’s on and community happenings.

We would love to let us know what you think of the site as we continue to make improvements to make it an even better experience for you. You can email us at toowoomba@news.com.au
