New Year’s Eve is always one of the biggest nights of the year in Toowoomba, but there was even more of a reason to celebrate last night with many people more than happy to say “good riddance” to 2020.

After a tumultuous year with the outbreak of COVID-19, residents were excited to leave 2020 behind and start out fresh for 2021.

Toowoomba residents celebrated with a bang, with pubs and clubs hosting parties right across the city.

Hundreds of people filled in venues with a champagne in hand, as the new year rung in.

Families and those wanting a more low-key night headed to the Toowoomba Showgrounds for a drive-in movie and early fireworks.
