RAIN and warmer weather can be expected for Toowoomba over the next few days, giving residents a break from cool, clear mornings.

Bureau of Meteorology forecaster Rosa Hoff said Toowoomba received 2mm of rain overnight, with more showers expected.

“Today Toowoomba can expect 2-4mm,” Ms Hoff said.

“Tomorrow 0-2mm and a similar quantity on Friday, then 1-4mm on Saturday.

“Sunday is the peak on the cards and we’re forecasting between 5-20mm.”

Ms Hoff said there was a cold front creeping across the southern states, but temperatures were set to increase before the cold front hit Toowoomba.

“The minimum and maximum temperatures will be lifting and peaking on the weekend,” she said.

“Minimums will get up to 5-7 degrees above average and maximum temperatures will be getting up to around 3 degrees above average.

“As we see the cold front come through on Sunday and Monday we will see conditions return to normal because it will be on the back of that warmer weather.”
