WANTED: Man escapes police custody by headbutting officer
A man wanted on drug, assault and domestic violence charges is on the run from police after he escaped custody by headbutting a local officer.

A police officer has been hospitalised and a man is on the run from police after an incident occurred between the men outside a local courthouse which resulted in an accused criminal escaping custody.
Warwick police are conducting a search for Stanthorpe man Clayton Alvoen, 28, who escaped police custody on Wednesday after appearing in Warwick Magistrates Court.
Police confirmed Alvoen was being escorted to the watch house by a local officer at 2.30pm on Wednesday when he allegedly headbutted the officer, escaped his grasp and fled on foot.
Police immediately began extensive patrols but have since failed to locate the man.
Officers believe he may have been picked up by associates who then drove away from the scene.
Investigations have continued overnight and this morning with police checking known associates and haunts for Alvoen.
He had been taken to court on drug, assault, bail and domestic violence related offences.
Police have taken all necessary action in relation to those involved with the domestic violence matters.
Alvoen is described as having a fair complexion, approximately 180 cm tall with a slim build, black hair and brown eyes.
The injured officer received treatment at the local hospital for a facial laceration.
Anyone with information in relation to the man’s whereabouts is urged to immediately contact police.
