UberEats trends for Toowoomba in 2020: Rise in early bird orders

Food delivery services have boomed in popularity this year especially with Covid-19 confining people to their homes.
Uber Eats has released their Year in Review findings which show Toowoomba residents were listed in the top seven cities nationally for early riser orders.
Toowoomba, along with Brisbane, Gold Coast and Townsville were in the top Queensland cities for the highest percentage of orders between 5am and 10am.
Healthy food continued to breakthrough in popularity with quinoa, kale, bowls, brussels sprouts, edamame, acai, kombucha, hummus, poke and brown rice all popular choices in the second half of the year.
Due to COVID-19 keeping most of us in our homes the country stayed connected with contactless caffeine delivery with a sharp incline in the consumption of coffee on the platform, with almost 50 per cent more orders than the previous year.
UberEats head of cities Luke Mullholland said Toowoomba had a thriving and vibrant food scene which was why locals had eagerly adopted Uber Eats.
“We’ve been incredibly pleased with how residents in Toowoomba have embraced Uber Eats as a way to get the food they love, delivered contactless at the touch of a button from their favourite restaurants,” he said.
“We are always looking at ways to reach more Toowoomba locals, while providing customers with a variety of affordable, quality meals remains important to us.”
Generosity has also been on the rise in the last 12 months, with a 30 per cent increase in the number of Aussies tipping their driver.
