Appeal made to find second vehicle after woman hurt in rollover

Police have appealed for the public’s help in locating a second vehicle involved in a high-speed traffic crash south of Toowoomba.

At least five QFES crews and paramedics were called to Preston Boundary Rd at Preston, just south of Toowoomba, about 9am following reports that two vehicles travelling in opposite directions, a white van and a Toyota Rav4, had collided.

Emergency services arrived to find a 24-year-old woman injured after her Rav4 rolled over an embankment, however the van also allegedly involved in the crash left the scene without stopping.

The female driver of the Rav4 was still inside the vehicle when crews arrived, and she was taken to Toowoomba Hospital in a stable condition.

Tow truck driver Tyler Cormick told The Chronicle the woman believed a white van was also involved in the crash.

“At this stage, it’s just a single-vehicle rollover, but they are performing investigations,” he said.

The QFES confirmed it had called in two extra crews to assist the three trucks and police already at the scene with a search.

A spokeswoman said authorities completed the search about 11am, having been unable to find any vehicle.

Police are urging witnesses who saw the white van and anyone with dashcam footage from Preston Boundary Road between 8.45am and 9am to contact police.
