TOOWOOMBA'S tallest Christmas tree will be lit up for the first time this festive season on Thursday night.
The tree, measuring 35ft in height, is at Grand Central's Central Square.
Grand Central centre manager Claire Torkington said Christmas was one of the centre's favourite times of year, and the centre was delighted to once again be part of this annual CBD event.
"We invite the community to join in the celebrations at Grand Central from 4pm on Thursday.
"Our 35ft tree is pride of place in Central Square - and at 7.30pm Santa and the Mayor will light it up.
"Afterwards, we encourage everyone to stay and grab a selfie with Santa and Mrs Claus, and enjoy dinner at one of our restaurants."
The centre will also have market stalls, entertainment, face painting, balloon artists and more throughout the centre as part of the celebrations.
There will also be roaming Christmas characters such as Frosty the Snowman, Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer, and the Gingerbread Man, as well as roaming entertainment from characters including the inflatable Hip Hop Santas, the Drummer Boy, and Acro Elves.
