TOOWOOMBA will continue to experience above average temperatures this week, with a chance of showers and storms on Thursday and Friday.

Bureau of Meteorology meteorologist Kimba Wong said temperatures would top 35 degrees this week.

“In terms of temperatures it’s looking to be a pretty warm few days ahead, it’s going to be over 30 degrees until the weekend,” Ms Wong said.

“The average for Toowoomba this time of year is 28 degrees, so it’s seven degrees above average, and coming back down to average over the weekend.”

Ms Wong said there was a moderate chance of showers and thunderstorms later in the week.

“In terms of rainfall totals it’s not looking like a huge amount,” she said.

“Totals are looking to be isolated if they are heavier.”
