The historic Apollonia House on Taylor Street has received a minty fresh breath of air with the addition of several world-leading experts within the dentistry field.

Director and business partner Dr Simon Franks said he had had a vision of opening a one-stop specialist dental clinic in Toowoomba for four years and his vision was finally coming together.

“With Toowoomba’s growing population we saw the need for patients to have a specialty paediatric dentist, prosthodontist and periodontist clinic right here in town,” he said.

“By bringing together a team of specialists who are leading experts in their field, Toowoomba Specialist Dental is proud to be a highly customer centred clinic, offering world-class dentistry services so patients no longer have to travel to Brisbane for treatments, fittings and follow up procedures.”

Joining Dr Franks is clinic partner and German trained prosthodontist Professor Florian Mack, former Royal Australian Navy dentist and periodontics specialist Dr Kere Kobayashi, paediatric dentist Dr Sonali Mistry and Professor Vasilios Chronopoulos who is a registered specialist prosthodontist based in Athens.

“Dr Mack and I have have carefully curated an outstanding team of some of the best dental specialists Australia has to offer,” Dr Franks said.

“We like to say the best room in the clinic is the lunch room because it’s going to be where all of our specialists can gather and put their heads together to come up with the best possible solution and treatments for our patients.”

Dr Franks said the dental clinic’s predecessor Dr Rob Sivertsen was still practising part time within Apollonia House.

“While our clinic is very much a leader within the specialist world of prosthodontics and periodontology, our team are very much looking forward to meeting and working with Toowoomba’s current dental practices,” he said.

“At the end of the day we want to be able to work side-by-side to ensure this region receives the care and treatment they need without all the travel and stress.”
