Toowoomba residents split on US presidential race
A Facebook poll on The Chronicle’s website showed Joe Biden was slightly more popular than Donald Trump, but results were close.

The world will today learn just who the next President of the United States of America will be.
Democrat Joe Biden has taken on incumbent Republican Donald Trump in what is considered to be one of the most consequential US elections of all time.
The Chronicle took to Facebook to ask its readers who they would like to see elected president.
At time of print, 189 people said Joe Biden, while 124 said Donald Trump.
Jordan Cross said they’d prefer President Trump get re-elected.
“It’s pretty great having a front-row seat to the collapse of an empire,” they said.
“Trump has been doing a great job for everyday Americans, if only Australia had a leader that cared as much about the little guy as he does,” Betty Taylor said.
“The only thing Scotty from Marketing leads is the queue to get on the plane to Hawaii.”
Susan Plant said she also supported Donald Trump.
“My friends in the States think he is great,” she said.
Rai Akers said America needs someone “who does not lie about how serious something is just to look good”, referring to President Trump’s handling of the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Sadly those believing Trump’s lies are not interested in learning they’ve been mislead.” she said.
Results for the US election should start appearing from 2pm.
