Police, fire and ambulance crews are now at the scene of the crash at the Puma service station at Wyalla Plaza on the corner of Taylor and Wyalla Streets in Newtown.

Witnesses at the plaza say they saw the black Lexus sedan speed around the corner before losing control and crashing into the water tank attached to the servo.

Two women and a man were seen getting out of the vehicle and fleeing the scene.

One man, who declined to be named, said he chased after a woman and brought her back and handed her over to a security guard.
