AFTER a successful year in business, a Toowoomba woman has decided to host a biscuit drive to raise much-needed funds for a charity.
Gloriously Free Oats Australia, otherwise known as GF Oats, is launching a national scheme that aims to put money back into local cafes and schools while raising funds for veterans' support charity Legacy.
GF Oats founder and director Kylie Martin is calling on schools, cafes and retailers to place an order for Anzac or chocolate biscuits at heavily discounted wholesale prices, with GF Oats donating a portion of proceeds to Legacy and sellers able to make a solid profit on biscuit sales.
Legacy is a charity providing services to Australian families suffering after the injury or death of a spouse or parent, during or after their defence force service.
The charity currently cares for 52,000 beneficiaries, including 1845 children and disabled dependants throughout Australia.
Ms Martin has supported Legacy throughout the year with online sales of her Anzac biscuits raising more than $2,000 for the charity to date.
"I'm hoping that through this new initiative I'm able to create a win-win situation for businesses and for Legacy - as well as customers who love tasty biscuits," she said.
"Our biscuits are suitable for people with multiple food intolerances or lifestyle food choices, testing to nil gluten, and of course, locally made with clean ingredients."
The campaign kicked off this week and will continue throughout the year.
