Four Toowoomba vegan activists are hosting an event in town to talk with others about their “skills and adventures.”
An investigator, a parent, a cook and an activist have teamed up to share their stories and give presentations on how to make the world a better place for animals.
The event will be held at the Toowoomba Library from 6pm to 8.30pm on Tuesday, March 2.
In recent years more people have begun looking at a vegetarian or vegan lifestyle whether it be for health reasons or environmental reasons.
The event is for those wanting to know more about life as a vegan and aims to shine a light into the legal practices of animal agriculture, consumer choices and their consequences.
Carol Slater is the vice president of Farm Animal Rescue and will talk about her experiences as an investigator, Carly Middap is a mum to a four-year-old girl and will address the joys, trials and tribulations of vegan parenthood.
Mo Orr is an animal rights activist and will share what it’s like inside slaughter houses.
Renata Halpin is a wonderful cook and will show guests how they veganize recipes and will take guests for a quick virtual supermarket tour of Aldi, Woolworths and Coles.
The presentations will be followed by a question-and-answer session.
The event is $10 and bookings are essential.
