Three people were rushed to hospital with minor injuries after a herbicide spill at a well-known agribusiness in the west of Toowoomba.
On Wednesday morning emergency crews were called to Elders Toowoomba on South St after a chemical product spilt onto the ground, leaving three people with minor injuries, a Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said.
Fire crews were working to make the scene safe after a selective herbicide spilt on the premises, QFES Area Commander Kent Barron said.
“At this stage, we’ve put a bit of an exclusion zone around the site itself up to the driveway,” he said.
“South Street itself is still safe to use.
“The product has absorbed into the ground and there’s very low risk of anything that is airborne.”
Three people were taken to St Vincent's Hospital in a stable condition with minor injuries from chemical exposure, a QAS spokeswoman said.
Elders Toowoomba declined to comment.
