WITH the pandemic dampening many people's Easter plans, a couple of Toowoomba retailers were determined to bring a little colour and joy to the holiday.
On Thursday, Grand Central and Big W Grand Central donated 100 Easter eggs to the Toowoomba Hospital Foundation, to be distributed in the hospital's paediatric ward.
"We asked if there was any chance of someone donating some eggs and Grand Central and Big W both came to the party," Toowoomba Hospital Foundation CEO Alison Kennedy said.
"We have candy eggs and chocolate eggs, and I cannot wait to get back to the hospital to give these to the team.
"They'll be super excited to be able to look after all of the little patients during the Easter break who are stuck inside our hospital."
Ms Kennedy said it had been a trying time for kids during the pandemic and the hospital hoped to bring a bit of normalcy with the donation.
