STAY SAFE: Paramedics respond to several Toowoomba crashes

THERE have been lots of paramedics travelling with their lights and sirens activated.

A MOTORIST sustained minor injuries in a single-vehicle crash on Blackwell Rd at Westbrook.

Traffic along the road was delayed as emergency services cleared the wreck and treated the driver.

The crash occurred shortly after 9am.

It followed an earlier crash at the corner of MacKenzie St and Stenner St, where a motorcyclist collided with the gutter and was thrown from his bike.

Queensland Ambulance Service paramedics treated the man for a minor shoulder injury and transported him to the Toowoomba Hospital, in a stable condition.

At 9.49pm, on Saturday, paramedics were called to a motorcycle crash at the intersection of Ruth St and Amanda Drv in Centenary Heights.

Preliminary police investigations indicate the motorcycle was travelling north on Amanda Drv when the rider has lost control of the motorcycle on a bend.

The rider, a 24-year-old Toowoomba man, has been airlifted to Brisbane with serious head injuries.

The 21-year-old female passenger remains in the Toowoomba Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Forensic Crash Unit officers are investigating the crash.
