Sit among the vineyards at picturesque restaurant

Rosalie House Vineyard and Cellar Door was more than 10 years in the making for one Toowoomba family, planting vines in 2005 in the hopes of one day being able to open a restaurant.

It’s tranquil, home to amazing wine, delicious food and only a 15-minute drive from Toowoomba.

Rosalie House Vineyard and Cellar Door was more than 10 years in the making for Doyle and Vicki Thompson, and their children Renee Brown and Teshla Thompson.

They planted vines in 2005 in the hopes of one day being able to open a restaurant to the public.

It was always a dream for the family and together that dream became a reality in 2018.

Since then the venue has increased in popularity as Toowoomba residents and visitors looking for a different way to spend their outings, catching up with friends or dining out with loved ones.

With so many people stuck inside for months at a time last year, the venue has become the ideal place to meet with friends and family in the fresh air surrounded by acres of land.

You can dine at Rosalie House for breakfast, lunch and dinner, as well as book a table for gatherings such as birthdays, baby showers or bridal showers.

Ms Brown runs the vineyard and front of house and said the venue stood out because when customers arrived, they became the family’s guests, with people commenting it felt like a ‘homey’ place.

She said the venue offered something different, being able to sit among the picturesque vineyards.

“Whether you want the intimate dining experience, the rowdy and good-natured group booking, or the relaxed family outing, come for a drive,” she said.

“The sunset views across the Lilyvale Valley from the veranda are the icing on the cake.

“I think so many people love our venue because of its large open spaces, its escape to the country feel, picturesque surroundings, wholesome food, great wine and good service.

“We have awesome large group bookings menus and are very popular for bridal and baby showers, special birthdays and anniversary parties.

“We host special events throughout the year for locals and visitors.”

Not only do they host private events but Rosalie House has been ramping up the local events lately, with its Campfire Feast night in August selling out within 24 hours.

It is also hosting an upcoming pasta making course on Saturday, May 8.

For Mother’s Day this year, coming up on Sunday, May 9, customers can dine in the restaurant or purchase a picnic hamper to enjoy on the grounds while listening to live music.

Rosalie House is located at 135 Lavender’s Rd Lilyvale, Meringandan.
