WITH winter just around the corner, Lifeline Darling Downs has launched its Share the Warmth appeal.

The organisation is preparing for what is traditionally a challenging time with increased demand for support from struggling families and individuals.

Lifeline Darling Downs CEO Derek Tuffield said the added strain of the COVID-19 pandemic would severely stretch resources.

“We’re looking for people to donate blankets, to donate non-perishable food products, but also to donate cash so we can help meet the demand that we’re … expecting is going to arise as the colder weather sets in,” Mr Tuffield said.

Lifeline Darling Downs has updated its website to make it easier to make online donations during the pandemic.

Just $15 can provide a hygiene pack to a person in need, and $50 can provide a family with a food parcel.
