Natalie Keene was handed an award for her work at Kirkeby andelslandbruk in the Oslo Gardening Competition.
She said she has always had a green thumb.
“I started growing food as a young adult out of a fascination for vegetables and herbs that I could eat,” she said.
“Mum and dad inspired me and also taught me a lot, dad’s a farmer and mum is an incredible gardener.
“Now I like to grow enough for people to get all their food from my farms.
“Mum visited me in Norway last year and I was still learning things from her then – she didn’t exactly relax she worked on my farms with me.”
Ms Keene said “Kirkeby” means Church village in Norwegian, and herself and her husband rent a field from a family there.
Lying next to the farm are the ruins of a 12th century church, for which the farm used to belong to the church.
Ms Keene and her partner rent it from a couple that live on the ground, and grow grains, potatoes, and raspberries.
It is a council-owner property, along with six other farms in the city.
The site is a fully functioning farm, but also contains a small museum and has walking paths through it.
