GRAB your popcorn and Maltesers movie lovers, because The Strand cinema is reopening to the public from August 20.

Event Cinemas area general manager Ian Mills said he was looking forward to having patrons through the doors and the smell of popcorn in the foyer once again.

Regular programming will resume at The Strand from next Thursday, while sneak previews of new Hollywood blockbuster, Christopher Nolan's Tenet, will be screened on August 22 and 23 ahead of its official release on Thursday, August 27.

Social distancing measures, increased cleaning, and sanitisation stations will be in place, and the online booking system will automatically wrap a socially distanced bubble around individuals or groups of theatregoers when they purchase tickets.
