Police trace Blake Riley’s movements days before his death

Detectives continue to probe Blake Riley’s movements and the people he had contact with in the hours before his lifeless body was dumped at a Preston lookout.

Sunday will mark two months since the body of deceased Toowoomba man Blake Riley was found at a Preston lookout, leading to renewed calls for information.

The 28-year-old’s family last saw him alive on the evening of January 5.

Darling Downs Acting Detective Inspector Paul McCusker said the investigation in Mr Riley’s death continues.

“It is ongoing as investigators trace his last movements and interaction with his associates in the days prior to his death,” he said.

Mr Riley’s body was dumped in bushland off Preston-Boundary Rd,

Police believe he died about 12 to 24 hours before his body was discovered by a pair of tourists about 9am on January 7.

At the time investigators declined to comment on whether Mr Riley died as a result of wounding or by nonviolent means, as they waited on autopsy results.

Mr Riley’s friends and family have appealed for anyone with information for investigators to come forward.
