A man aged in his 20s has suffered serious injuries in a shocking motorbike crash on Saturday afternoon, with motorists urged to avoid the area.

A man aged in his 20s has suffered significant leg injuries in a motorbike crash near Pittsworth this afternoon, with a rescue helicopter tasked to the scene.

Paramedics were called to the scene at Umbiram School Road at 4.13pm Saturday after reports of a single-motorcycle crash.

A Queensland Ambulance spokeswoman confirmed a helicopter had arrived on scene and would transport the man to hospital for further treatment, however it is unclear at this time to which hospital.

Motorists are asked to avoid the area.
