THROUGHOUT the coronavirus pandemic, Toowoomba Anglican School students held onto the hope their school musical, Beauty and the Beast, would make it to the stage.
After months of preparations and the relaxation of some of the coronavirus restrictions, the cast is finally set to perform five sold out shows next week.
Year 12 students Klaudia Shaw and Cameron McConville, who are playing lead characters Belle and the Beast, said rehearsals had now taken on a new energy.
"Now that we are heading into the last week of rehearsals everyone is feeling excited," Ms Shaw said.
"This is my last musical so it was a great surprise to be cast as Belle - I've always loved her as a character."
Mr McConville said the cast and production team had to adapt to the changing conditions caused by coronavirus.
"We picked (the characters) back up quickly when the rehearsals returned to normal," Mr McConville said.
TAS' Beauty and the Beast will run from September 3 - 5 at the school's Millennium Centre.
