Toowoomba has celebrated the new year in spectacular fashion with fireworks and events across the city.
Despite the weather warnings for thunderstorms and heavy rain, conditions stayed mostly dry for the evening’s New Year’s Eve celebrations.
The Toowoomba Regional Council’s annual fireworks show lit up the night sky over Queens Park in a dazzling display.
There were also fireworks at the City Golf Club and at McGregor St Oval in Wilsonton.
The historic Jondaryan Woolshed also proved to be popular with many counting down to the new year in true country style.
Toowoomba’s restaurants and bars were popular too among NYE revellers.
Natalia Da Silva, who celebrated the evening and her birthday with family and friends at The Rock, said the venue was “pretty busy” with guests.
