A NEW parking station in the Toowoomba CBD has been approved by the council.
Applicant Liam Christopher Betts submitted his plans in April to turn a previously vacant lot on Neil St in Toowoomba City into a new lot with 54 parks available.
According to the details submitted to the council, the new station would feature two access points from Neil and Silverwood Sts, as well as some landscaping in parts.
TRC planning officer Shokhida Safarova recommended the project be approved, subject to more than 70 conditions relating to landscaping, visual and acoustic amenities, stormwater and air quality.
"The proposed parking Station would be used as short-term/casual parking for the general public between the hours of 6am to 9pm Monday to Sundays, and for employees of the adjacent accounting firm between 7am and 6pm," she wrote in her report.
"The proposed development has been assessed and generally complies with all provisions."
