A NEW restaurant has opened at Grand Central, with the Indian Tree bringing a new cuisine to the centre.

The Indian Tree opened two weeks ago in the restaurant precinct, in the former location of PappaRich which closed this year after opening in 2018.

The Indian Tree offers tasty Indian food with classics and modern alternatives on the menu.

Manager Adi Reddy said the restaurant was already busy, despite the owners not yet promoting themselves as they find their feet.

"It's a totally new business, not a franchise," he said.

"We only opened a few weeks ago and are fine tuning a few things so we haven't really actively gone about telling people we are open.

"But we are already busy, good word of mouth is going around and people are coming in to try our food.

"It's very exciting."

Mr Reddy said the flavour style of the dishes was south Indian.

"Our chef is from Brisbane and he has a great reputation for cooking biryanis," she said.

"It's one of our specalisties and you can't find these types anywhere else in Toowoomba."

Indian Tree also sells traditional Indian food such as butter chicken and other curries.

It is open seven days a week.
