A Toowoomba man has a released a piece of music with the hopes of raising funds for a Queensland hospital that saved his life.

Peter Achilles is a full-time musician and songwriter, and just released his first track Life Goes On through distributor CD Baby.

Life Goes On is a Celtic, contemporary piece which was inspired by his health and life.

“I feel as though Covid will be with us for a while and we should not give up hope and be strong through these times because life is precious,” he said.

“Music has always been my passion and while I’m 67 I believe age should never stop you from being creative.”

While this is Mr Achilles first song he’s written and released, he has been part of the industry for many years.

He has worked backstage at concerts, worked in a recording studio as an assistant and appeared on television shows such as Pot of Gold and Australia’s Got Talent.

Mr Achilles didn’t release his song with the aim of making money himself, instead he wanted to make money and donate it to the Princess Alexandra Hospital.

Last year he underwent a liver transplant at the hospital and is so grateful for all they did that he wants to give back.

You can stream Life Goes On, on Spotify and iTunes.
