A man has been rescued after he went missing trail bike riding in the northern Toowoomba region on Sunday.
An RACQ LifeFlight spokesman said the rescue helicopter commenced a search, in the northern Toowoomba region, after the man called for help on Sunday afternoon.
“Emergency services were called by the male, aged in his forties, explaining that he had been out trail bike riding by himself, and had become lost and only had limited water,” the spokesman said.
“After a ground search failed to locate him, the Queensland Police Service (QPS) requested the RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter to start searching for the man.
“Soon after arriving, at the last known co-ordinates, the rescue chopper crew located the lost rider at a remote hut, on top of a hill.”
The spokesman said the crew landed the chopper near the hut and the aeromedical team then walked a short distance to assess the man.
“He was suffering severe dehydration and was airlifted to Toowoomba Hospital in a stable condition,” he said.
