Man sustains serious injuries in a quad bike accident in Cooyar

Firefighters have helped free a man from under a quad bike after a serious crash North of the city.

A rescue helicopter is on route to a private property in Cooyar, after a man sustained serious injuries in a quad bike crash.

A Queensland and Fire Emergency services spokeswoman said two fire crews were called to the property at 1.05pm, after reports of a single vehicle accident.

The crews arrived on scene at 1.30pm and helped to release a man from underneath a quad bike.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said paramedics are currently assessing a man in his 30s on scene, who appears to be in a serious but stable condition suffering from a leg injury.

The spokeswoman said a rescue helicopter had been tasked.
