THE Toowoomba Regional Council has been inundated with suggestions for how to improve the CBD, as the first round of public consultation finished on the City Centre master plan review.

Planning and development general manager Stewart Somers revealed to councillors this week the council's Your Say page had received more than 2000 visits since community engagement was launched last month.

"Back on June 4, we kicked off the City Centre Master Plan community engagement, which finished on July 10," he said at the ordinary meeting on Tuesday.

"We received about 2000 visits in those five weeks on the council's Your Say page, with people wanting to provide ideas and thoughts and their experiences with the city centre and the master plan.

"That was pretty good, given that this is just the beginning of the process.

"We'll certainly be coming back to council fairly certain to update the council on how we're going there.

"We're most enthusiastic to hear from as many people as possible in regard to the city centre - it is a major part of our region and certainly a major economic driver for this part of the state.

"We're most keen to hear from anyone who has an idea or a thought."

Several councillors expressed interest in the progress of the master plan, including Crs Kerry Shine, Rebecca Vonhoff and Megan O'Hara Sullivan.

Residents wanting to be involved or learn more about the master plan can head to the council website.
