For a limited time, buying a cocktail at a popular Toowoomba restaurant could go a long way in supporting our region’s farmers.

Vapiano Grand Central is kicking off a promotion every Wednesday where guests can purchase a $5 cocktail with any main meal, and the full $5 will be donated to a good cause.

Customers who buy a cocktail are encouraged to head online and cast a vote for the charity they wish to support, and donations will be apportioned based on those votes.

The charity supported by Toowoomba’s branch will be Drought Angels.

'The drought is like cancer spreading across Australia'

Vapiano manager Margarita Perez said the importance of the charity could not be understated.

“Drought Angels do some incredible work for Australian farmers in tough situations, particularly those in our own local region and we’re extremely proud to be able to support them with our cocktails for a cause initiative,” she said.

“Cocktails for a cause will run each Wednesday from 5pm and we hope to see the local community joining us to support Drought Angels an the other great charities over some delicious food and refreshing cocktails.”

The promotion will run every Wednesday night from 5pm.
