TOOWOOMBA resident Carmen Dillon was one of many enjoying the sunshine at the Summer Tunes at Picnic Point yesterday.

Ms Dillon, who moved to the Garden City in December, was out celebrating her mum Leeanna Blatchly's birthday.

"My mum always encourages me to come along to the Summer Tunes and we've got a beautiful day today," Ms Dillon said.

"I'm a marriage celebrant so it's nice to get out and enjoy the things Toowoomba has to offer.

"They have the different performers but the big band is my favourite."

Ms Dillon said she was happy to see the diversity of the audience, which was made up of different ages.

"It's nice to see families out picnicking, there's something for all ages," she said.

Summer Tunes filled parks across Toowoomba with music yesterday, with bands entertaining audiences for free at Laurel Bank Park, Queens Park, Picnic Point and Newtown Park.
