Firefighters extinguish blaze after van catches alight on Toowoomba Range

Firefighters have rushed to the scene of a van on fire at the top of the Toowoomba Range this afternoon.

Queensland Fire and Emergency Services have extinguished a van that caught fire on the Toowoomba Range.

A QFES spokeswoman said a vehicle was reported to be on fire at 1.15pm, which firefighters were able to extinguish by 1.35pm.

Queensland Ambulance Service officers were also on scene as well.

Firefighters were still cleaning up at 2pm, the spokeswoman said.

Traffic heading up the range is currently backed up and long delays are expected, the Department of Transport and Main Roads has advised.
