It’s the ultimate in cinema experience and now it’s in Toowoomba.

Event Cinemas Toowoomba has opened to the public and is set to deliver a brand-new cinema

experience to locals, after a full refurbishment of the cinema and construction of a new 25-metre wide V-max theatre.

Tickets for tonight’s screenings are on sale now.

Two existing cinema auditoriums now have wide-cushioned standard seats and full recliners, there’s also a new candy bar, cafe and bar area.

The cinema complex has reopened after rebranding from Birch, Carroll & Coyle Toowoomba to Event Cinemas Toowoomba.

Construction and refurbishment of the cinemas is estimated to have cost in the millions of dollars.

The move to the Event Cinemas brand reflects the broad new cinema experience on offer which has been built around Event Cinemas’ unique Your Cinema Your Way concept, to give locals a greater choice of movie going options – and cinema goers can expect something special next time they visit the movies.

Event Cinemas has brought V-Max to the region, a cinema that is all about upsizing everything by bringing maximum picture and maximum sound together for a “can’t-be-replicated” movie experience.

The V-Max theatre features stadium seating, a giant state-of-the-art digital screen that’s almost

25-metres wide, 4K resolution and the latest Dolby Atmos sound technology with 82 channels of amplification and 10,000 watts of raw audio power.

Movie lovers can also enjoy watching on one of Queensland’s biggest screens in the new V-Max from the wide-cushioned V-Max seats, luxurious full recliners or in the front-row double daybeds, which are positioned for a perfect unobstructed view, and offer the ultimate movie watching experience.

Customers will now be able to flex their options and up the ante with more choice in two of the newly renovated original cinemas with the introduction of full recliner seating, alongside traditional seating, all complemented with crystal-clear picture and pristine sound.

Event Cinemas area manager Ian Mills said his team was excited to reopen its doors and welcome locals back.

“Event Cinemas Toowoomba really is cinema at its best. In fact, with the introduction of V-Max, the latest in sound and picture technology throughout the complex and new choices in seating, the cinema-going experience will never be the same again,” he said.

“We’re also thrilled to introduce the Event Cinemas brand to Toowoomba. The change is all part of our commitment to delivering on our vision to offer a world of experiences under one roof – whether that’s new cinema concepts, greater choice in seating or the opportunity to enjoy new amenities like our cafe and bar, the experience doesn’t need to start and end with the movie, you can arrive early or stay on after your movie to enjoy a cocktail or coffee – the choice is yours.”
