CURIOUS Arts Festival - a colourful program of comedy, dance, music, circus and family entertainment - is set to exhilarate Toowoomba audiences from March 20-22.

Following its highly successful premiere last year, Curious Arts Festival will once again feature a mix of free and ticketed shows within the Empire Theatre Precinct, catering for the whole family and bringing a rich variety of exciting arts events to the city.

Festival co-director Ruth Atkinson, said the festival would transform the Empire Theatre Precinct and the forecourt turning its multiple venues into an unexpected playground for audiences to explore and experience.

"People can sit back and relax in the transformed Empire Theatre forecourt, with music and roving comedy characters," Ms Atkinson said.

"Or why not join in the fun, kicking up your dancing shoes or experiencing one of the shows taking place in the surrounding venues.

"We're encouraging the people of the Toowoomba region to get in touch with their curiosity, be a little adventurous and experience a taste of something new."
