Council votes on reappointment of town crier

TOOWOOMBA Regional Council's environment and community committee has voted to reappoint Kevin Howarth as the region's town crier and honorary ambassador for a new four year stint.
The matter will come before next week's ordinary council meeting for formal adoption.
Mr Howarth has held the position of town crier since December 2016, following an expressions of interest process.
An honorarium of $8000 will be paid to Mr Howarth, as "contribution to overall expenses incurred in the undertaking of the voluntary role of town crier and honorary ambassador.
The committee unanimously voted to reappoint Mr Howarth.
