Containers for Change North Toowoomba opens its doors behind Northpoint

Residents on the northern side of Toowoomba now have a new option for converting their old cans and bottles into cash.
Containers for Change North Toowoomba opened on Friday, adding to the three other facilities already operating in the Garden City.
The Containers for Change program is run by Container Exchange, a not-for-profit entity set up to administer the initiative, which allows people to exchange eligible containers for a 10c refund.
Everything put through the scheme is recycled by industry.
Containers for Change North Toowoomba operations manager Arthur Carpenter said he was looking forward to welcoming people to the new centre, adding there was huge demand for the recycling scheme.
The first year of the program saw more than one billion containers recycled across Queensland.
The new Containers for Change North Toowoomba facility features a drive-through warehouse and multiple recycling stations, and will employ roughly 20 people.
It caters for people with trailers, and is an all-weather facility.
