A Toowoomba chef’s decision to ramp up her business and take it full time has proven to be a success.

Amy’s Sweet Treats is an at-home based business which offers slices, fudge, cookies, custom cakes and cupcakes as well as other sweet treats.

Owned and operated by Amy Taylor, the mum is also a qualified chef and has always had a passion for baking.

She found it was a great way to stay at home with her children as opposed to working the long-hours of a chef.

One of the business’ major successes is its sweet treat boxes which are perfect for parties or gifts.

Ms Taylor said her specialties were the homemade slices and fudges.

“The bestsellers are definitely our caramel slice, which we do topped with milk chocolate, white chocolate or Caramilk chocolate, and our Redskin fudge,” she said.

Amy’s Sweet Treats launched three years ago but it was only this year Ms Taylor decided to take it full-time.

“The business is doing great and growing rapidly,” she said.

“We have been having pop-up shops in Clifford Gardens, Toowoomba Plaza and The Ridge Shoppingworld, which have been going well, and getting lots of Christmas orders.

“Our Christmas treats include classic rum balls, white Christmases, coconut ice and peppermint fudge.

“We also offer Christmas Treat Boxes in a variety of sizes as well as paint your own cookie sets for the kids.”
