A Toowoomba pub is getting a revamp as its new owner takes the CBD venue in a new direction.
Christina Scarborough and her husband Barry took over the Tatts Hotel in January and have been busy working to renovate it for the past eight weeks.
Mrs Scarborough said hospitality had always been her passion and she was excited to give the venue a fresh look.
“Tatts has always been our second home, we were excited to use the skills from our group to give the hotel a new lease on life and bring it back to its former glory where it will once again be the place to be,” she said.
“It will be fun and vibrant and something that Toowoomba hasn’t seen before.
“We are introducing costal vibes for a relaxed and fun environment as well as setting up Toowoomba’s best live sports bar, The Stadium, which will be home to Toowoomba largest screen.
“It will be the place to watch all live sports and main events.”
The couple is no stranger to running their own business, owning seven others in town.
“We hire more than 120 locals combined, and we also have five children, so we like to keep busy,” she said.
The downstairs area of the Tatts Hotel is closed for renovations and will reopen on Thursday, April 8.
From there dining will be available all day on Friday and Saturday, and Sunday to Thursday it will be open for lunch and dinner.
The hotel will still function as a nightclub on Friday and Saturday nights.
There will be a grand reopening Neon Party on Saturday, April 10 with 42Band kicking off the night followed by international acclaimed DJ Chumpion to finish off.
