Bushfire at Dunmore, west of Toowoomba, continues to burn

One family had to evacuate because of the blaze.

Fire crews are heading back to the scene of a fire burning within containment lines west of Toowoomba.

As of 7.15am this morning, the fire between O’Connor Rd and Cecil Plains Moonie Rd at Dunmore, south of Dalby, was at a notification level, meaning the fire does not pose an immediate threat.

According to the Queensland Fire and Emergency Services, the fire is within containment lines and producing a moderate amount of smoke.

“There is no threat to property at this time,” A QFES spokesperson said.

“Residents suffering from a respiratory condition should close windows and doors and keep medications close by.

Extreme fire conditions on Thursday sparked up an old hazard reduction burn that had been carried out by the Queensland Parks and Wildlife Services.

One local family decided to evacuate their home on Thursday night because of the blaze.

Motorists should drive with caution and to conditions. If residents are concerned their property is under threat, they are advised to call triple-0 (000) immediately.
