Toowoomba based food manufacturer GF Oats made a special delivery to Bunnings Toowoomba North last week ahead of Anzac Day, dropping 200 packs of their Anzac biscuits off to Bunnings employees across the three stores in Toowoomba and Warwick.
GF Oats founder and director Kylie Martin created the gluten friendly traditional Anzac biscuit to make a positive impact in the community, especially last year when Remembrance Day services were cancelled.
“After meeting Bunnings’ activities manager last year at a local market, she loved the story about our biscuits and wanted to support a local business. We are really grateful for their support,” Ms Martin said.
“The purchase of the biscuits for the staff also supports Legacy, because money from each pack goes to them.
“So far, we’ve raised $5000 for Legacy, who use the funds to support Australian Diggers.”
GF Oats Anzac biscuits use uncontaminated oats and are the first to hit the market using this ingredient. They are also approved by Veterans Affairs.
GF Oats Biscuits also come in a special commemorative pack especially designed for Anzac Day.
“We created these commemorative boxes for a few reasons – to deliver a biscuit that is nutritious, and delicious, to ensure people with intolerances or special dietary requirements don’t miss out on this traditional ANZAC DAY treat, and to give back to Legacy,” Ms Martin said.
“The boxes include an ANZAC history quiz, and are packed beautifully with a rosemary or poppy inside.”
