Arrival of baby marks 5 generations of Toowoomba family living at once
A Toowoomba family is celebrating five generations being alive and together at the one time, with the arrival of the newest member River Rielly.

With the arrival of baby River Rielly, it’s the first time Marilyn Schefe’s family has had five generations living at the one time.
Mrs Schefe, 64, is great grandmother to River who made his way into the world on October 16.
While becoming a great grandmother is very special and something not everyone gets to experience, becoming great great grandparents is even more unique.
Mrs Schefe’s parents Glen and Themla McKeiver are very much alive and well at the ages of 85 and 83 respectively.
They were over the moon when they found out their great granddaughter Jessica Rielly was excepting her first baby, giving them the title of great great grandparents.
Mrs Schefe said the family got together at the start of the month and was able to snap a photo of the five generations together, including her son and grandfather to River, Warren Schefe.
“Everyone besides Jessica and River live in Toowoomba, they live in Inglewood, so it was great that we found an opportunity to all get together,” she said.
“My parents are just so proud, my mum didn’t know her grandparents and had no aunties or uncles, so to become great great grandparents and have such a tight-knit family is so special.
“Not many people get to experience having five generations living at the one time, so it’s pretty amazing.
“My husband and I have give grandchildren, and this is our first great grandchild.
“It’s crazy how time flies, it doesn’t feel that long ago that my children were babies, and now look, my baby’s baby had a baby.”
