Queensland has been plunged into a three-day snap lockdown after two new community transmitted cases of Covid-19 were detected in the community.
Here are all of your questions about the snap lockdown, and how it impacts Toowoomba, answered:
Q: Is Toowoomba in lockdown?
A: No. From 6pm on Tuesday night until 6pm on Friday night southeast Queensland, Townsville, Palm Island and Magnetic Island will go into a three-day lockdown.
Queensland Health confirmed the 11 southeast Queensland council areas to be locked down are Noosa, Sunshine Coast, Brisbane, Gold Coast, Ipswich, Logan, Redlands, Moreton, Scenic Rim, Somerset and Lockyer Valley.
The Toowoomba region is not in lockdown.
Anyone who was in South East Queensland, Townsville (including Magnetic Island) or Palm Island on or since 6pm Tuesday June 29 is required to follow the same lockdown rules even if they are no longer in those areas.
Q: Do we need to wear masks in Toowoomba?
A: If you have visited any of the 11 southeast Queensland locations subject to lockdown since 1am on Tuesday, June 29, you will need to wear a mask.
If you are in or have been in an impacted area at any time since 1am on June 29, you must wear a face mask at all times in public indoor and outdoor spaces.
If you have not been in an impacted area, you are only required to wear a mask in some locations such as airports and on domestic flights.
Q: Can I visit loved ones in hospital in Toowoomba during the lockdown period?
A: Yes, but you will need to check with individual hospitals regarding their restrictions.
St Vincent’s Hospital Toowoomba has mandated the use of masks if you reside in any of the 11 southeast Queensland locations mentioned above.
Patients who have been in any Covid hot spots in Greater Sydney must return a negative Covid-19 test result before visiting.
