WELLCAMP Airport recorded the coldest temperature in Queensland this morning, dropping to -3.2 degrees overnight.
According to the Bureau of Meteorology Toowoomba Airport recorded 1.7 degrees, Oakey -2.8, Applethorpe -2.1, Dalby -1.7, and Warwick -0.6.
BOM meteorologist Shane Kennedy said maximum temperatures would sit above average over the weekend, while minimum temperatures would be just below average for July.
"Over the weekend maximum temperatures will sit around 19 degrees on Saturday and Sunday in Toowoomba," Mr Kennedy said.
"The average in July for Toowoomba is 17.
"Those minimums are still pretty chilly, around the 5-6 degree mark.
"The average minimum is 7 degrees for July."
The maximum temperatures for Oakey and Dlaby would sit around 21-22 degrees at the weekend, while Stanthorpe would see a maximum of 18 on Saturday and 17 on Sunday.
Mr Kennedy said the reason for the cooler minimum temperatures and warmer maximum temperatures was because of the cool, dry, air surrounding the region.
"It's a reasonably cool and dry air mass over the whole state, but because it's so clear the sun will heat things up in the afternoon," he said.
"Days are starting to get a bit longer as well which will also help warm things up a bit."
Mr Kennedy said there was a high chance of frost across the Toowoomba region at the weekend.
