Club Pittsworth hosted the Arthur Postle Gift on Saturday.
The annual sprint carnival is named after The Crimson Flash – one of the Darling Downs’ greatest athletes.
For the first time the John “Cracker” McDonald AM Memorial was added to the 2025 program.
In a touching tribute the field included Grant McDonald, one of Cracker’s sons.
The second leg of the 300m memorial race was won by Anas Abu Ganaba.
In the main event - The Postle Gift - Brisbane sprinter Hamish Macintosh started at the front of the pack and finished in the same position.
Lining up with an 8m advantage, Macintosh admitted to a few pre-race nerves but once he settled into the blocks the plan was simple - run hard.
“Starting at the front I didn’t know where anyone was,” Macintosh said.
“My focus is to get low, drive through the start and push hard all the way through from there.”
