REST IN PEACE: Bundaberg teenager Brock Daniel, 16, tragically died in a single vehicle rollover in Cecil Plains on October 5.

POLICE have clarified that the vehicle involved in a fatal crash at Cecil Plains was not stolen.

The crash occurred about 10.30pm on Monday and killed 16-year-old Brock Daniel.

Along with police, Brock’s sister Taylor Daniel, cleared up rumours about the crash.

She said Brock was travelling from Texas to Dalby with his pregnant girlfriend, his brother, and his brother’s girlfriend.

The young ages of people involved sent social media into overdrive with many people incorrectly speculating that the car was stolen, speeding or otherwise engaged in illegal activity.

Brock was killed when the 18-year-old female driver lost control of the car, on an unsealed section of Dalby-Cecil Plains Rd.

Dalby-Burnett Patrol Group Inspector Graeme Paine said the tragedy was a timely reminder to drive with caution and to wear a seatbelt.

“We had four teenagers, in a car on an unsealed section of road at night and unfortunately there were tragic consequences,” he said.

“Drivers need to make sure all occupants are wearing seatbelts, that they drive to the conditions and monitor their level of fatigue.”

Officers from the Dalby Forensic Crash unit are investigating the cause.
