A TOOWOOMBA teenager who rolled her car driving home had blown a breath/alcohol reading more than five times the legal limit.
Tinette Eva Le Maire Earley was still in the driver's seat and going in and out of consciousness with a head injury when emergency services arrived at the crash site off Luck Road in Vale View about 3.40pm, July 31, Toowoomba Magistrates Court heard.
Her car appeared to have rolled a number of times, police prosecutor Sergeant Natalie Bugden told the court.
The 19-year-old was taken by Queensland Ambulance Service to hospital where a sample of blood was taken about 7pm and showed she had a blood/alcohol reading of 0.27, Sgt Bugden said.
The teenager later told police she had drunk a cask of chardonnay at her boyfriend's home in Mt Lofty before attempting to drive home to Nobby.
She thought she had been looking for something in the passenger seat while driving and lost control of the vehicle, the court heard.
The self-represented Earley pleaded guilty to driving while under the influence of liquor.
Asked if she had anything to say, Earley apologized to the court for her offence and said she had lost her job through COVID.
Noting she had no criminal history and short traffic history, Magistrate Graham Lee fined her $1500 and disqualified her from holding or obtaining a driver's licence for 15 months.
