THERE is no doubt the Toowoomba Second Range Crossing is a colossal project and new figures released by Nexus are a reminder of just how big it is.

The figures shared online show a snapshot of how the project is progressing.

It takes a look into the amount of earth moved, how much concrete has been poured and how many Super Ts have been installed.

More than 12.1 million cubic metres of earth have been excavated to create an even surface for the road, with 9.4 million cubic metres of earth filled.

There has also been 223,941 tonnes of foamed bitumen placed and 432 Super Ts installed.

About 51,781 cubic metres of concrete have been poured for the bridges, as well as 9309 tonnes of steel reinforcement installed.

About 11,585 metres of pipe have been laid for culverts - the length of ten Sydney Harbour bridges.

Nexus has also released a graph that shows the progress of each element of the project.

Work on the numerous bridges, cross drainage and PUP relocations are the furthest along, sitting at almost 100% complete.

Earthworks and granular pavements come in next at about 90% complete.

Landscaping, foamed bitumen, slope protection and longitudinal drainage is between 70% and 80% finished.

Nexus workers have the furthest to go on asphalt pavement, which is only 40% of the way there.
