Toowoomba residents want more entertainment

THERE needs to be more events for young people and families, according to Toowoomba residents.

In a recent survey, by The Chronicle in conjunction with Maurice Blackburn Lawyers, it showed about three-quarters of people believe that more entertainment is needed in the Garden City.

This is despite new events in town such as the Streets and Lanes Festival, Bites and Brews, One Table, Friday Night Bites and Brewoomba.

It also showed concern about the ice epidemic, with 88% of people agreeing there needs to be more done to combat drug issues.

While 64% of people are worried about alcohol fuelled violence.

The Chronicle took to the streets to ask residents their thoughts on entertainment in Toowoomba with those interviewed agreeing that more events need to be held for families and young people.

The view was also taken that the community needs to support the events that are already being held in town.
