While warmer daytime temperatures are expected to creep across parts of the Darling Downs this week, an icy change will appear as the weekend approaches.
Residents won’t need to hold onto their hats, with no wild winds forecast over the coming days.
Bureau of Meteorology’s Daniel Hayes said Wednesday is set to be the region’s warmest day, with daytime temperatures predicted to reach 24C in Dalby and 20C in Toowoomba.
“Minimum temperatures won’t be quite as cool, however there is expected to be some frost still hanging around except for on Thursday,” he said.
“There may be the chance for winds up to 20-30 km/h on Thursday, with a slightly breezy morning on Friday.”
Mr Hayes said frost will return from Friday morning as weekend temperatures begin to drop, with Oakey to see a minimum of zero and a crisp -2C on Saturday, and -3C on Sunday.
Toowoomba will reach a minimum of 5C on Friday, while a chilly 3C is expected on both Saturday and Sunday.
Further south to Warwick and Stanthorpe, residents can expect a minimum of 1C on Saturday and zero on Sunday.
